Metabolic Wise - an interesting new way to get health information
In a Nutshell
A new AI-driven approach to understanding and optimising human health
Root-cause focus - mitochondria play a central role in overall wellness
Incorporates evolutionary influences - nutrient-dense real food, natural sunlight, circadian alignment, and physical movement
I recently listened to an interview on the Quantum Biology Collective podcast with Neil Gyte co-founder of Metabolic Wise, a new searchable source of health information. Their stated mission is:
“Our mission is to help 1 billion+ people become metabolically healthy.
metabolicWise is your trusted, AI-powered guide grounded in “root cause” metabolic science.
We translate complex, peer-reviewed research into clear, practical information—empowering you to understand, heal, and optimize your wellbeing.”
I like their approach for three main reasons:
Focus on root-cause rather than symptoms: Placing mitochondrial health at the center, recognizing its role in preventing chronic disease
Holistic evolutionary lens: Connecting key environmental factors like nutrient-dense real food, sunlight exposure, and lifestyle alignment that we are adapted to
Credible expertise: A strong scientific advisory group, including experts like Ben Bikman (whose work on metabolic health I follow closely)
The central role of mitochondria in human health is increasingly acknowledged. I described them briefly here where I wrote
“A mitochondrion (singular) is a very small component of the cells of most plants, animals and fungi. It has traditionally been described as the “powerhouse of the cell” because it generates energy. It is now recognized that mitochondria (plural) also play roles in cell division, differentiation and death, hormone production, and influence metabolic flexibility.”
This is a promising work-in-progress - a science-backed resource for anyone seeking deeper, root-cause insights into quantum biology and true metabolic resilience!
